If you are a movie/Tv buff , then I personally believe your friend circle should include people from different ethnicity, culture & region . This gives you a golden opportunity of exploring a different world altogether than that of your own. One of my friend had introduced me to Korean movies and boy was i pleasantly surprised. Similar was the case when someone introduced me to Japanese , french , Iranian movies etc.

But now i have a digital friend who is suggesting me something new to explore. And that’s none other that NETFLIX.

La Casa De Papel or Money Heist is a Spanish series based on the heist planned by a person named Professor and his team of 8 people who have a their own unique skill sets.

This is one of the highest viewed foreign language TV series on Netflix as of now and after watching it i know why .

Each and every ingredient of this series is of top notch quality . To start with lets talk about about the cast. The cast is so fucking awesome that i fell in love with almost all the 9 actors ( I have already checked their insta , wiki etc 🙂 ) . It also reminded me of my first ever English Tv series that i watched which was equally engaging – Prison Break ( I binge watched the series for 22 hours straight )

Special mention to Alvaro Morte who plays the professor . This character is shy but very meticulous and intelligent, and at times he goes out of his shyness and does some very bold and dangerous work. He reminded me of Heisenberg character played by the very talented Bryan Cranston in Breaking Bad. Both these characters are chip of the same block . Alvaro has played it with such perfection that he lingers in our mind long after you have finished the 2 seasons.

The Other character BERLIN played by Pedro Alonso is again such a complicated character. He has his own swag , his own code of conduct and morals and one of the best philosophical dialogues. Again intoxicating performance .. makes you crave for more … just like drugs.

Other actors too have played their role very well. The best part about this Tv series is that each and every character is flawed and has different layers to their personality which is peeled with every passing episode, and it is so beautiful and engaging to watch.

The other major contributor to this exemplary Tv series is the background score. It heightens all the roller coaster ride of emotions and makes sure you are on the edge of your seat. The song “Bella Ciao” which happens to be the sung by the anti fascist resistance in Italy in 1943 has been used very tactfully ( its makes you feel patriotic about the robbers as if they are doing a noble job).

Alex Pina who has created this Tv series has done a great job and i would definetly watch his other works. He has introduced me to the word of Spanish and i cant thank him enough. Its funny but i have started learning the basics of Spanish language just by watching these 2 seasons.

I am still hungover by this Tv series and waiting impatiently for the Season 3

NETFLIX … lets keep exploring my friend.
