In India just like elsewhere, times have changed. There was a time when the hottest thing to do was becoming a doctor, engineer, architect, etc, but today the hottest thing to do is become a Youtuber, Standup Comedian or become an entrepreneur & startup.

Entrepreneurship is something that a lot of people want to do and are fascinated by companies like Amazon, Flipkart, Ola and the kind of success these founders achieve. But reality does not allow everyone to pursue it or worse some take the leap but don’t make it (My story ).

So a simple way to watch the startup world and the rise and fall of entrepreneurs and be a part of that universe is by binge-watching shows that have entrepreneurship as the central theme.

So if you are looking for such tv shows, then hope in …

Here are the 3 Tv shows that I recommend to watch on entrepreneurship stories that are well worth your time

Shark Tank

Who knew a show regarding entrepreneurs pitching their idea in front of potential investors could become a reality show until Shark Tank came on abc network. And it was a smashing success with a mix of great to terrible ideas and the suspense of who would get the funding makes the show a perfect binge watcher. You not only get to see who gets the funding but also get a regular update on the progress of funded ideas.

The Sharks too are a good mix of reserved investors like  Robert Herjavic, Barbara Corcoran; aggressive investors like Mark Cuban, Daymond John and pessimist investor like Kevin O’Leary making it an interesting squad.

You also get to see guest sharks like Aston Kutcher, Richard Branson, etc. that add the occasional spice.

The fact that abc has announced the airing of the 11th season of Shark Tank is the proof of the show’s success.

TVF Pitchers

Created by TVF(The Viral Fever) founder Arunabh Kumar, this fictional show revolves around 4 friends who take the plunge in entrepreneurship lead by Naveen Bansal and quit their regular job and taking the roller coaster ride. This show is a true gem in Indian web series and holds a rating of 9.2 on IMDB. The show has the perfect casting, background score, perfect blend of situational comedy as well as high octane drama. With Season 1 having only 5 Episodes and 2nd season yet to be released, this show can be completed in a day of binge watching.

Silicon Valley

A groundbreaking product, a socially awkward entrepreneur, a fierce yet stupid competitor, a megalomaniac incubator and partner, fellow software developers who are equally socially awkward … do I need to say more. This HBO Tv show created by Mike Judge captures the exact essence of the Startup culture of Silicon Valley which has now become a holy shrine for all aspiring entrepreneurs. The situational comedy, as well as the on-screen chemistry of all characters, is so good that it leaves you wanting for more.

The first 3 seasons are superb and it would urge you to watch the next episode asap. The 4th and final season is a bit slow and it looked like the writers were running out of ideas and the same situation kept repeating.

But still, this is the best tv show on entrepreneurship as of now.

Fun Fact: Mike Judge is also the creator of the cult classic movie OFFICE SPACE

So what are you waiting for … Startup 🙂
