Okay so it’s not like the Netflix original, it already had a run on Lifetime (Yes even I heard this cable network for the first time 😉 ) but then I don’t know how Netflix personnel judge a tv show but man they are a very smart bunch. The first season of YOU when aired on Netflix has garnered more than 40 million views and has become on the best Tv shows of 2019. The second season based on the sequel book HIDDEN BODIES will be airing soon.

So this is not the love story you want to be part of but man the story is compelling and interesting. Its a slap on the rom-com genre and how using the techniques preached in such movies can be used in a crooked way.

So here are the 5 ways YOU twisted the rom-com genre and made it even tastier

  1. I Love you … like I really really love you
    • Joe is a book store manager and Guinevere beck is an aspiring writer who visits his book store. Its a love at first sight for Joe. What looks like a standard love story soon takes an ugly turn when we realize he not only loves her but has also become obsessed about her and hence becomes a stalker. (The pilot episode has all of this and more and you will be hooked and will decide to binge watch the remaining 9 episodes )
  2. I want to know you … each and every detail
    • So everyone does this when they fall in love. They want to know more about their love. What they like, hate, their friends etc. But Joe takes it to another level. He uses social media and maps and even hacks Guinevere’s phone to stay updated on what she is doing and saying. Now that’s super creepy but weirdly enough when we are watching the show we are with Joe and are ok with his technique ( Ya that’s how your mind will play with you )
  3. I will protect you … even if you didn’t ask for it 
    • We all want to protect our love of any possible danger but Joe takes it to a whole new level. He even goes ahead and kills people in order to protect Guinevere ( Yes we are still with Joe and are ok with what he is doing )
  4. I will watch over you … literally all the time 
    • We want to be with our love for as long as we can but Joe literally wants to be around Guinevere all the time. So what does he do? he puts on a cap and jacket and follows her everywhere. literally everywhere ( Even the bathroom is no exception )
  5. You don’t love me … fine ( where’s my hammer )
    • It’s heartbreaking when the person we love doesn’t love us anymore. We all have been there, we cry, drink, stress eat and do every other step possible to get over it. But Joe … Joe doesn’t believe in that .. You either love him … or you will be introduced to the famous hammer he has. He is like  Thor of Stalkers 😛

Anyone who wants to watch a great love thriller show that keeps you entertained for all 10 episodes should definitely watch YOU.

You will also start taking what you put on social media seriously. Because in today’s digital age stalking anyone is not that difficult.
