In India, we look up to superheroes not in fictional human characters but in our 32 crore gods. Lord Krishna, Lord Hanuman, Lord Ram, Lord Shiva, Durga Mata are some of our favorite gods whom we worship as well as love to watch their stories.

Bollywood, as well as Indian Television, has given us a lot of these great stories. In 1975 Santoshi Maa was the first goddess whose story on silver screen took India by storm. So much so that Even Ramesh Sippy’s Legendary movie “Sholay” didn’t get a good response until the movie Jai Santoshi Maa was in theatres ( for more than 50 weeks). Its also said that People used to remove their footwear outside the theatres in order to go watch Santoshi Maa and there were aartis performed whenever Anita Guha who played the role of Santoshi Maa would come on screen. Such was the craze of devotional stories which is present even now in the Indian audience.

Now that everyone is on the Internet and there would be a lot of people looking for good devotional shows. So here are some of the best Tv shows you can watch on ZEE5

Santoshi Maa:

The first in this list is the classic Santoshi Maa serial which ties the legendary Santoshi Maa story with modern day in which there is ardent follower whose name coincidently is also Santoshi. It’s a beautiful story and gives some very good moral message along the way on how to live a fulfilled and happy life.

Raavan:

We have always seen mythological stories as a battle of good & evil and most of the times we have seen it from the angle of the protagonist and never from the angle of the antagonist. Hence keeping this in mind, the TV show Raavan was made to show the audience the angle of the antagonist, showing that it is not necessary that the person is evil or bad. They just happen to make the wrong choices. And we are nothing but the choices we make. Raavan was Brahmin, a scholar and ardent devotee of Lord Shiva. His devotion to Lord Shiva was so strong that during one of his Tapasya he made Lord Shiva give him his own shivaling. There are many such stories of Raavan in the show that make it a good watch.

Shaktipeeth Ke Bhairav:

We have all seen Lord Shiva in his regular avatar and his tales with Paravati & Ganesh. But this TV show takes a very different storyline that is very less known to the general audience. This revolves around Sati who in the rage of her husband’s mockery kills herself. This news makes Lord Shiva take the Rudra avatar Bhairav in the pain and agony of Sati’s death. He starts dancing in a rage all over the earth while carrying his wife’s body. From this point, the show takes us through the story of how the 51 shaktipeeths were formed. Definitely a good watch.

Ramayan: Sabke Jeevan Ka Aadhar:

Ramayan is a timeless classic. It’s the story we have loved right from our childhood when Ramanand Sagar first introduced us to this epic. Although no one can compare the classic 80s show with the 2010s version, the story of Ramayan in the latter version still feels like a fresh lease of life through equally good actors and better special effects.

So, go ahead and log in to your ZEE5 account to binge watch these incredible mythological TV shows.
